SOUL AND SPIRIT OF MAN

SOUL and SPIRIT of MAN

1. Man has a body. In this he is like all creation of God through the animal and vegetable world.

2. Man possess a soul. In this we are unlike the trees , plants, and lower animals. The soul is the seat of our emotions, our passions, our feelings, our feelings, our desires, our affections, our likes and dislikes, and our will. All these thing we have in common with the God.

3. Man is a spirit. In this he is unique among God's creatures. "The spirit of a man is the candle of Jehovah"Proverbs 20:27, and it is this that is set aglow when man is born-again; and the God's Spirit testifies with man's spirit that he is a child of God. God cannot be known by the body, nor by the soul, but only by the spirit. And even the human spirit is incapable of finding out anything about God or of knowing God except by revelation of the Spirit of God.

   "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God...But the soulish (so the Greek) man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they anew foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritually discerneth all things, yet he himself discerned of no man" 1 Corinthians 2:11-15.

   The believer is spiritual only when he is ruled through his own spirit by the Spirit of God. If he is ruled by his body as dominated by his soul, he becomes a slave to his own affections, appetites, emotions, passions, and therefore is a willful, selfish man. The Word of God is is very careful to distinguish: between the things of the soul and the spirit even judging "the thoughts and the intents of the heart" as to whether such thoughts and intents are spiritual or soulish, Hebrews 4:12. It declares that any wisdom which is not from above and therefore not from the Spirit of God, is earthly, soulish, devilish" James 3:15. It asserts that the false teachers of the end-time are "they who make separations, soulish, having not the Spirit" Jude 19; and finally, it gives us the glorious assurance that when we get our resurrected bodies 1 Corinthians 15:44 they will be no longer soulish [natural' is incorrect here also], but spiritual: no longer dominated by selfishness and willfulness, but rather under the full and free control of the Spirit of God.

I am accepting Christ into my heart & what He did on the cross in order to purchase my redemption. In obedience to Your Word I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, & believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead. You have said in Your Word which cannot lie, for whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved [Romans 10:13].  If you have said this or your own words & believed them, your name has been written down in the Lamb's book of life. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God!
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born anew.
The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the voice thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

It should render to God:Obedience***Ephesians 6:5-8***Servants, be obedient unto them that according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
not in the way of eye service, as men-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
with good will doing service, as unto the Lord, and not unto men:
knowing that whatsoever good thing each one doeth, the same shall he receive again from the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Faith***Romans 10:8-14***But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:
for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:
for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

                               Salvation on the Roman Road!
The Plan of Salvation:A  long time ago, a Roman Jailer asked of the Apostle Paul the most important question that could ever be asked., "What must I do to be saved?"

Paul's answer was immediate, to the point, clear, & concise. He said: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, * you shall be saved, & your household" Acts 16-30 & 31.
Man named Nicodemus also asked in John 3:1-8 ["You must be born again!]

1.For all have sinned, & come short of the glory of God;...Romans 3:23

2.For the wages of sin is death;...but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

3.But God commendeth His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

4.For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 19:13

5.That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, & shall believe in your heart [spirit] that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:9
6. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, & acceptable, & perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2

IF WE WANT TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL IN THIS BATTLE

If we want to become successful in this battle

by RevJack Sparrow on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 7:16pm

When we become a born again Christian we become an enemy of Satan & immediately we will be at war with him. Whether we want to or not. Every Christian is involved in this war with Satan. The devil will do whatever he can to come against us, he will use someone close to you if he can. He will try & wear us down mentally & physically & spiritually.

If we want to become successful in this battle, we must do what God has told us. God has given us the power to overcome him, God has given us all the tools to do this. We just have to learn how to use them. Remind yourself what God has give to us. Salvation, freedom from sin, a new nature. The keys to heaven. Power of the Holy Spirit, friends to help us when we fall & are weak in the flesh or spirit. Find yourself a prayer partner that won't blab to everybody they meet. Someone you can trust. Find scriptures in His Word, write them down, before you need them. Say them over & over until you get them deep down into your spirit. Remember when Satan attacks you may not be able to run & find a scripture that you need at the time!!

Call on the power of the Holy Spirit, ask in Jesus Name, command Satan to leave! Faith comes by hearing & hearing the Word of God. Study to show yourself approved of God! Get into the Word of God.

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil & he will flee from you. James 4:7

"And they over come him by the blood of the Lamb & by the word of their testimony & they did not love their lives to the death. Rev 12:11

You are of God little children & have over come them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Ephesians 6:10 [The Warrior's power]
   Finally, be strengthened by the Lord & His vast strength.

[The Warrior's armor]
   11. Put in the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. {Who puts on this armor? You, You,You & I must put it on, when, when, now before the Devil comes to kill, steal, & destroy John 10:10}

[The Warrior's foes]
   12. For our battle is not against flesh & blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

As believers of Jesus we have the victory & power in His precious Name. We do have to  wear the armor of God. When you wear the armor of God you should be able to withstand the attack of the enemy. Because the enemy will attack, but when you have the shield of faith, the belt of truth, the sword of the Spirit the word of God. The sandals of evangelism, the breastplate of justice, and the helmet of salvation it should be possible to withstand the attacks of the enemy.?

 13. This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the day of evil, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.[And having having, having, having, you have prepared, you have already prepared yourself everything, everything, then you can take a stand, then you can take a stand, after you have prepared, you can stand, you can stand, you can stand after you have prepared.]

 14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

 15. And your feet shod with readiness with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

 16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

 17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

[The Warriors resource]
    18. With every prayer & request, pray at all times in the Spirit, & stay alert in this, with all perseverance & intercession for all the saints.

    Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains tremble with the swelling thereof. Selah

    Jehovah of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
      Come, behold the works of Jehovah, What desolation he hath made in the earth.
    He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariots in the fire.
    Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
    Jehovah of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

John 11:25

and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this?

    But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth,  And at last he will stand up upon the earth:
    And after my skin, even this body, is destroyed, Then without my flesh shall I see God;
    Whom I, even I, shall see, on my side, And mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger. My heart is consumed within me.

Job 1:21
and he said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: Jehovah gave, and Jehovah hath taken away; blessed be the name of Jehovah.
In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
    Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas;
    Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains tremble with the swelling thereof. Selah

John 15:25-29
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.
For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:

and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,
and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

Psalm 20:1 & 2
Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble; The name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;
    Send thee help from the sanctuary, And strengthen thee out of Zion;

Psalms 39:4 & 5
    Jehovah, make me to know mine end,  And the measure of my days, what it is; Let me know how frail I am.
    Behold, thou hast made my days as hand breadths;  And my life-time is as nothing before thee: Surely every man at his best estate is altogether vanity. Selah

2 Samuel  12:19-23
Wherefore hast thou despised the word of Jehovah, to do that which is evil in his sight? thou hast smitten Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thy house, because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house; and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbor, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.
And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against Jehovah. And Nathan said unto David, Jehovah also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of Jehovah to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
And Nathan departed unto his house. And Jehovah struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
And the elders of his house arose, and stood beside him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead; for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he hearkened not unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead!
But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David perceived that the child was dead; and David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel; and he came into the house of Jehovah, and worshiped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.
Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.
And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who knoweth whether Jehovah will not be gracious to me, that the child may live?
But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.

Matthew 19:13-15
Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should lay his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
But Jesus said, Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for to such belongeth the kingdom of heaven.
And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

Psalm 90
A prayer of Moses the man of God.
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-place In all generations.
    Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
    Thou turnest man to destruction, And sayest, Return, ye children of men.
    For a thousand years in thy sight Are but as yesterday when it is past, And as a watch in the night.
    Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: In the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
    In the morning it flourish, and groweth up;     In the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
    For we are consumed in thine anger, And in thy wrath are we troubled.
    Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, Our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
    For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
    The days of our years are threescore years and ten, Or even by reason of strength fourscore years; Yet is their pride but labor and sorrow; For it is soon gone, and we fly away.
    Who knoweth the power of thine anger, And thy wrath according to the fear that is due unto thee?
    So teach us to number our days, That we may get us a heart of wisdom.
    Return, O Jehovah; How long? And let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
    Oh satisfy us in the morning with thy loving kindness, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
    Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, And the years wherein we have seen evil.
    Let thy work appear unto thy servants, And thy glory upon their children.
    And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us;     And establish thou the work of our hands upon us;     Yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Psalm 91
  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
    I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.
    For he will deliver thee from the snare of the Fowler,  And from the deadly pestilence.
    He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.
    Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
    For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
    A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee.
    Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked.
    For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;
    There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.
    For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways.
    They shall bear thee up in their hands,  Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
    Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot.
    Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
    He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.
    With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.

Psalm 23
Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters.
    He restoreth my soul: He guideth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
    Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
    Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil;     My cup runneth over.
    Surely goodness and lovingkindness shall follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for ever.

Job 14:1 & 2
      Man, that is born of a woman, Is of few days, and full of trouble.
    He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: He fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

Psalms 103:15-18
    As for man, his days are as grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
    For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; And the place thereof shall know it no more.
    But the lovingkindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, And his righteousness unto children’s children;
    To such as keep his covenant, And to those that remember his precepts to do them.

Psalms 46:10 &11
    Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
    Jehovah of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

Psalm 111
  Praise ye Jehovah. I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart, In the council of the upright, and in the congregation.
    The works of Jehovah are great, Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
    His work is honor and majesty; And his righteousness endureth for ever.
    He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: Jehovah is gracious and merciful.
    He hath given food unto them that fear him: He will ever be mindful of his covenant.
    He hath showed his people the power of his works, In giving them the heritage of the nations.
    The works of his hands are truth and justice; All his precepts are sure.
    They are established for ever and ever; They are done in truth and uprightness.
    He hath sent redemption unto his people; He hath commanded his covenant for ever: Holy and reverend is his name.
    The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth for ever.

Psalm 121
I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: From whence shall my help come?
    My help cometh from Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.
    He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
    Behold, he that keepeth Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep.
    Jehovah is thy keeper: Jehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand.
    The sun shall not smite thee by day, Nor the moon by night.
    Jehovah will keep thee from all evil; He will keep thy soul.
    Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in From this time forth and for evermore.

Isa.40:3-5
The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain:
and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.

Isa. 40:11, 29-31
He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that have their young.
29-31He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

John 1011-18
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.
He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth them: he fleeth  because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me, even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.
Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.

Revelation 21
  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God:

THE A-B-C's OF FAITH

 The A-B-C's Of Faith

"Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

1.Asking of Faith "But let him ask in faith,nothing wavering. (James 1:6)

   A. Many fail to receive from God simply because they do not ask.    (Matthew 7:7)

   B.We are to ask in childlike faith. Just (like) as earthly parents want to give good gifts to their children, so our Heavenly Father desires to do the same for His Children. (Matthew 7:11)

   C.Children are persistent,with a child's persistent we must keep on asking our heavenly Father. (Matthew 7:8)

2.Believing of Faith"Believe that you receive them,& you shall have them."(Mark 11:24)

    A.Some have difficulty believing. Their doubts cause them to live a defeated life.

    B.Everyone is tempted to doubt at times, but we must keep on believing in spite  of doubts. We defeat Satan by believing that we believe.

    C.Everything is possible for those who believe. (Matthew 9:28,29)

   Faith pleases God & brings His blessings. (Romans 10:10)
     A.Some people are ashamed to be called Christians. They are fearful of scorn & persecutions.

   B.We must be courageous about confessing our faith in Jesus Christ. If we are ashamed of Him,He will be ashamed of us also. We must be willing to share Christ with others. (Romans1:16)

    4.Doing of faith "...faith without works is dead". (James 2:20)

   A.Doing is the "plus"of faith. Many falter in the Christian life because they fail to act up on or work their faith.

   B.We must let the Holy Spirit work through us. We are His channel, the instrument He will work through us.

   C.We must believe that the Holy Spirit is directing & guiding our steps. He speaks through us as we witness to the unsaved. (John 15:5)

    Romans 12:3-God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

   Romans 12:3-we all start out with the same amount of faith. What can you trust God for at this point in your life, can you believe God for something small or something very large.

    John 6:63-Flesh needs the spirit to life, the spirit doesn't need the flesh to live. Jesus speaks to the spirit,& when your spirit hears from God your flesh will profit, the flesh is not the man, the man is the spirit, the life of the flesh is in the blood (Lev.17:11).

                                                                      [FAITH IS]

   Faith is the acceptance of a fact  which already exists but which has not yet been manifested to the senses.

    Believing that something is true which is not true will never make it true.

    You must turn on the power that is inside you as a believer, resurrection power, flowing into your body & banishing symptoms of disease.

God Sent His Only Son Jesus Christ

The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago, God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

   Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

   Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life, of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

   Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."(John 14:6)

   God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name."( John 1:12)

   You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.

   If you want to accept Christ as your Savior and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:

   "Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.  Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life.  I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve you always."
   Did you pray this prayer?
